    A delegation of left-wing American friends is on a visit to Vietnam to study the land and people here now, the Vietnam-US relationship, as well as the enduring consequences left by the war.

    Established in 2007, the Vietnam-US Dialogue Group has worked to raise awareness among the US authorities and people, mobilise the US and international communities to make more contributions to solving AO/dioxin consequences for Vietnam ’s environment and human health

    Group assesses Agent Orange's impact 35 years after Vietnam War's end

    WASHINGTON (CNS) -- A group of 10 interreligious figures who visited Vietnam in late spring said the toxic, corrosive effects of Agent Orange still jeopardize the Vietnamese people 35 years after the war's end.

    Data from Military headquarter of Ha Tinh province, during the American war  number of military martyr Ha Tinh is 28,417, 32,246 wounded solders, 51 thousands policy objects, 19,200 victims who are infected by Agent orange/dioxin,  535 Vietnam Heroic Mothers; 32,681 people were died and wounded, thousands of houses had been dismantled to pave the road for anti-muddy so that trucks and cars could went ahead to the front. Great sacrifice of Ha Tinh people has been cited by The Party and the Government, nevertheless, at present in Ha Tinh, there are still pains due to the war ….

    VA abruptly issues second contract for Agent Orange claims system

    The Veterans Affairs Department awarded IBM a contract in July to develop within three months a system to process claims for veterans suffering from diseases related to the Vietnam-era chemical Agent Orange. But last week officials inexplicably issued another contract searching for a second contractor to do the job in one-third the time, while the IBM contract remains in place.

    U.S. Congressman Faleomavaega: Dioxin issue in Vietnam should be considered from the ethical aspect

    Afternoon on August 26th, in the framework of a working visit to Vietnam, the U.S. Congressman Eni FH Faleomavaega met the People's Committee of Da Nang city and exchanged on the settlement of Agent Orange’s shortcomings. Vice Chairman of People's Committee Vo Duy Khuong met and worked with the union.

    Operation Ranch Hand: The Toxic Legacy of Agent Orange

    On Aug. 10, 1961, the United States began spraying Agent Orange in Vietnam, in a campaign called “Operation Ranch Hand.” The spraying lasted nearly 10 years and resulted in death and disability for more than 3 million Vietnamese, including the children and grandchildren of those directly exposed.
